The Climate-Smart Agriculture Program - Partnerships and Innovation Grants is a funding opportunity that may be relevant to businesses within the agribusiness space.
Please note the need for a consortium approach to the Partnerships and Innovation stream requiring both an “applicant” and a “knowledge partner” such as a university or government.
Partnerships and Innovation grants will foster sustainable agricultural and natural resource management innovation. The grants will support projects that:
- assist natural resource-dependent agrifood businesses to improve their sustainability, productivity, profitability and ability to adapt to changes in markets and supply chains; or
- develop and promote the uptake of industry sustainability frameworks and credentials to improve market access.
Applications must involve a consortium of partners with one appointed as the ‘applicant’. Consortia must include at least one knowledge partner such as a university, research organisation or government agency.
A diverse range of entity types are eligible including:
- Companies and incorporated associations
- Indigenous corporations
- Local government
- Cooperatives
- State and Commonwealth entities
- Partnerships and sole traders
Grants between $250,000 and $5 million are available. The total funding pool is up to $45 million.
