The NSW Medical Devices Fund offers grants of up to $5 million towards innovative devices and technologies.
The NSW Medical Devices Fund supports the progression of new and innovative medical devices and related technologies towards commercialisation. Funded projects must be capable of:
- Improving patient care
- Improving health and wellbeing
- Generating economic, social or environmental benefits to NSW
The aim of the program is to increase the uptake of NSW medical devices that are cost-effective and contribute to improved patient outcomes.
Grants range between $500,000 and $5,000,000. Note that grants are repayable if the project outcomes ultimately generate a specified revenue threshold.
Financially viable companies or commercial enterprises that are headquartered in NSW and are one of the following:
- Australian company with a turnover of less than $25 million
- An individual forming a company
- NSW public research organisation
Applicants must have an innovative medical device/technology at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 or above and must not be owned by an international company or any other ineligible company.
Preliminary applications close Tuesday, 13 May 2025.
Full applications open in July 2025.
