The Victorian Circular Economy Recycling Modernisation Fund offers grants of up to $1 million to support reprocessing of hard-to-recycle plastics.

The VIC Circular Economy Recycling Fund seeks to advance the resource and recovery sector by supporting projects that:

  • Recover and reprocess hard-to-recycle plastics (including plastics from e-waste and soft plastics).
  • Enhance domestic capacity for reprocessing of hard-to-recycle plastics
  • Improve the quality of recovered hard-to-recycle plastics.
    Increase the use and market demand for recovered hard-to-recycle plastics in new products.

Project costs should focus on the procurement of new equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.

The program is designed to build the sector’s capacity, capability, and resilience, helping Victorian businesses adapt to the national export ban on waste materials and create jobs within the circular economy.

Grants range between $250,000 and $1 million. A matching contribution from the applicant is required.

Victorian entities that have an ABN and are one of the following:

  • Australian company
  • Social enterprise
  • Local government organisation
  • Non-for-profit organisation

Applicants must have been operating for at least two years.
