We are delighted to announce that Adam Cormack, Canberra Director in our Restructuring and Recovery division, has been awarded the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand President’s Prize for 2024.

Selected annually by CA ANZ’s president, the award honours their younger members who have contributed to the profession and the community they serve. CA ANZ’s regional Councils select their regional Young CA and – from this outstanding group of members – the president chooses the annual President’s Prize winner.

The President’s Prize comes with a $1,000 donation to a charity nominated by the winner, and Adam has elected the National Breast Cancer Foundation – an organisation strongly supported by CA ANZ and its members. During 2025, he will attend CA ANZ Council meetings as an observer and to contribute his perspective as a younger CA to the Council’s deliberations. “All of this years’ regional Young CAs across Australia and New Zealand are exceptional people forging exemplary careers in the profession while also helping their communities in myriad ways,” said CA ANZ President, Tinashe Kamangira FCA.

“Adam is a very deserving choice for the 2024 President’s Prize. Beyond his day job at RSM Australia in Canberra, he donates his time to a variety of CA ANZ initiatives that benefit his fellow members, including participating in CA Career Mentoring and expert advisory panels and interest groups,” Mr Kamangira said.

“Volunteering my skills as a Chartered Accountant to the ACT community and to my fellow members is a passion, not a chore. So I’m genuinely chuffed to be selected as the 2024 President’s Prize winner. I’m really looking forward to shadowing the Council next year and continuing my mentoring responsibilities – accounting is definitely a career in which you can make epic things happen,” said Adam Cormack CA.

“I chose the National Breast Cancer Foundation to receive the $1,000 donation because it’s a charity that CA ANZ has strong ties to and because I’ve seen firsthand how people benefit from their initiatives and research,” he said.
