James Rurenga

Assistant Accountant - Albany

James Rurenga is one of Albany's resident Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) experts working within the Business Advisory division.

Having joined Albany in 2011 as a Graduate and now an Assistant Accountant, James is a self-proclaimed 'SuperMSF Man', working closely with clients and their financial advisors to ensure their retirement goals are not only met, but also exceeded.

James further assists clients with their SMSF preparations in the event of a lost spouse or loved one, making their lives and the process both less painful and free of distractions during difficult periods of their lives.

"I want people to be in the best position possible for when they retire, and upon their retirement, I want them to continue enjoying the lifestyle they have had."

Prior to joining RSM, James was a 'Gossipmonger', where he recorded radio talks-shows, summarised the many stories told on air, and sold the recordings to interested businesses, politicans and more.

With a strong background in computer technology, James also enjoys dabbling in home automation, IoT or the Internet of Things, robotics and is a gaming expert.

In his spare time, James is a 4WD overlander and an avid camper.
