Ann Avila is a driven and detail-oriented accountant based in the Geraldton Business Advisory division, specialising in tax and accounting.

With a deep passion for organisation and problem-solving, she thrives in fast-paced environments, ensuring that all client needs are met with precision and efficiency.

Ann’s journey into accounting began with her experience as an accounting supervisor for a real estate development company before she expanded her expertise as an Offshore Accountant at an accounting firm in Melbourne. 

Through a 7-week accelerator program focusing on Australian Tax & Accounting, Ann honed her skills further, ultimately joining RSM, where she plays an instrumental role in preparing and analysing financial statements for various clients.

She works closely with her team to ensure financial records align with compliance standards and business goals, offering support in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts. 

Her experience spans sectors including agribusiness, energy and utilities, hospitality, property and construction, pharmacy, veterinary services, and manufacturing.

Ann’s biggest accomplishments reflect her dedication to both her professional development and her contributions to the success of her clients. One of her most notable achievements has been her consistent ability to complete and deliver financial statements and tax returns for a wide range of entities, including individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts. 

She prides herself on meeting strict deadlines, particularly when it comes to filing tax returns with the ATO on time. The accuracy and timeliness of her work ensure that her clients can focus on their business operations without the stress of looming compliance deadlines.

Throughout her career, Ann has been a valuable team player, contributing to the success of the firm and the smooth execution of large projects. One of her proudest moments has been her ability to make independent decisions regarding the accuracy of financial records for clients, ensuring that all accounts are properly accounted for. This independence has allowed her to take ownership of projects and deliver outcomes with confidence.

One of Ann's favourite pastimes is reading, as she’s always looking to expand her knowledge and immerse herself in different worlds. This love for reading allows Ann to unwind and recharge. When she’s not reading, Ann enjoys jogging as a way to stay active and clear her mind.

Creativity plays a significant role in Ann’s life, and she often taps into this side of herself through activities like painting by numbers and playing the ukulele.

Lastly, Ann’s love for karaoke showcases her sociable personality. She’s the type of person who can easily bring entertainment to any gathering, with a microphone in hand and ready to perform.
