Liz Inman
Senior Analyst - Port Macquarie

Liz Inman is a Senior in the Port Macquarie Restructuring & Insolvency division.
Liz is an experienced financial professional with a background in financial planning, tax accounting, and Restructuring & Insolvency, specialising in helping middle-market and regional SMEs navigate complex financial challenges. She works closely with clients to improve cash flow, manage debt, and resolve tax obligations, delivering tailored solutions that foster long-term business stability and growth.
Liz's focus is on helping small to medium-sized businesses thrive, particularly within the middle-market and regional SME sectors. Originally, Liz worked within the financial planning space, where developed skills in managing and advising clients on financial strategies and long-term goals. This background provided Liz with a comprehensive understanding of how to build financial security and structure for businesses, a skill she carried into the new service line she is a part of.
Post the financial planning space, Liz transitioned into tax accounting, where she acquired a skillet in the financial and regulatory needs of small businesses. She specialised in providing tax services to clients, helping them navigate complex tax laws, optimise their tax positions, and ensure compliance with ever-changing regulations. Her work in this area gave her a broad view of the challenges businesses face in managing their finances efficiently, and it laid the groundwork for her later move into Restructuring & Insolvency.
Currently, in her role within Restructuring & Insolvency division, Liz has found her niche in helping distressed businesses restructure their operations and finances to achieve solvency and long-term viability. She works closely with business owners, executives, and financial teams to identify key issues affecting cash flow, debt management, and business sustainability. Her experience extends to working with clients who are facing critical financial challenges, such as outstanding tax liabilities or unsustainable debt levels, and developing tailored strategies to resolve these issues.
One standout example of Liz’s work involved assisting a client with their complex obligations to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). The client was struggling to understand the full scope of their tax liabilities and how these obligations would impact their ongoing business operations. Liz helped the client navigate the intricacies of ATO compliance, devising a strategy that not only ensured they met their obligations but also minimised the impact on their cash flow and overall financial health. This proactive approach allowed the business to stay on track while avoiding costly penalties or further financial strain.
"My career is built on helping businesses navigate complex financial challenges, from tax compliance to restructuring, and I’m passionate about creating innovative solutions that not only solve immediate problems but also set my clients up for long-term success."
What sets Liz apart is her ability to think creatively and outside the box when it comes to solving problems. No two days in her work are ever the same, and the variety of challenges she faces keeps her engaged and motivated. Whether it’s finding new ways to improve cash flow, advising on debt restructuring, or developing processes that streamline business operations, Liz’s goal is always to create positive change for her clients. She thrives on delivering innovative solutions that help businesses turn their financial challenges into opportunities for growth and stability.
Beyond just resolving immediate financial issues, Liz is passionate about helping her clients develop a stronger, more resilient financial foundation for the future. By taking a holistic approach to financial management and focusing on long-term outcomes, Liz works to ensure that businesses not only survive but can also thrive in an increasingly complex and competitive marketplace. Her work is driven by a genuine desire to help her clients succeed, and she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that they achieve the best possible financial outcomes.
Outside of work, Liz is a busy mother of three daughters and the proud owner of two Border Collies, who certainly keep her on her toes. While her daughters have introduced her to netball, Liz's first passion remains hockey, a sport she has loved for many years. She enjoys staying active and involved with her family, balancing her professional life with her personal interests and commitments.
