Senior Accountant
Office Location

Pauline Hurrell is a Senior Accountant in the Port Lincoln Business Advisory team.

She specialises in supporting clients across the aged care, health, hospitality, property and construction, retail, and NDIS sectors.  Her strong industry knowledge helps her create financial strategies for businesses. These strategies guide them through complex financial situations, improve efficiency, and support long-term growth.

Pauline is passionate about helping middle-market and regional SMEs overcome financial challenges, particularly those struggling with cash flow management, cloud-based accounting software, and record-keeping obligations. She understands that financial stability is the backbone of any successful business and works closely with her clients to develop sustainable solutions that enhance their financial health.

Throughout her career, Pauline has made a significant impact by supporting start-ups and established businesses alike. She has worked extensively with small cafe owners, guiding them through the crucial start-up phase by assisting with business plan development, cash flow management, and identifying areas for improvement.

Her ability to simplify financial processes and provide clear, strategic advice has helped many businesses gain a strong foundation for success.

"I take a hands-on approach to simplify finances and support my clients' goals. By understanding their challenges, I provide practical solutions that reduce stress and drive long-term success."

In addition to her work with start-ups, Pauline has helped numerous clients catch up on overdue tax lodgements and compliance obligations. She understands that financial stress can be overwhelming, and she takes a supportive and structured approach to help clients regain control of their obligations.Image removed.

One of her most rewarding experiences was assisting a business that had fallen behind on multiple years of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Superannuation Guarantee Charge (SGC) payments. By working closely with the business owner to understand their financial situation and implementing a tailored strategy, Pauline not only helped them meet their obligations but also educated them on best practices for staying on top of deadlines in the future.

Before joining RSM, Pauline worked at a local accounting firm for seven years, where she moved up from a junior to a senior accountant. This experience allowed her to develop a strong foundation in bookkeeping, tax, payroll, and SMSF administration. Prior to her accounting career, she worked as an office manager for a now-successful building and construction business, where she gained valuable insights into the operational challenges faced by small businesses.

Beyond her professional life, Pauline values balance and personal growth. She enjoys starting her day with a quiet coffee before the rest of the household wakes up, relishing the peaceful moments before the day begins. A passionate reader, she spends much of her free time immersed in books, enjoying both fiction and non-fiction as a way to unwind.

Pauline’s dedication to her clients, passion for problem-solving, and commitment to continuous learning make her a trusted advisor in the business community.
