Tom Hüberli
Director - Rockingham

Tom Hüberli is a Director in the Rockingham Business Advisory division.

Tom brings a wealth of experience and a unique skill set to his role, serving middle-market SMEs, regional SMEs, and high-net-worth individuals across Australia.

With many years of service at RSM, Tom has developed a reputation as one of Australia’s foremost experts in Swiss pension tax outcomes and is a highly regarded adviser in the Defence and Manufacturing sectors. His expertise spans the entire business lifecycle, helping clients interpret their financial reports and navigate complex tax legislation to achieve outstanding outcomes.

As one of the only specialists in Australia focusing on Swiss pension tax outcomes, Tom assists clients both in Australia and Switzerland to optimise their tax strategies. Additionally, his work in the Defence and Manufacturing industries demonstrates his ability to handle sector-specific challenges and provide tailored advice to help organisations thrive.

Tom’s approach is underpinned by his commitment to ensuring clients understand their numbers and are equipped to make informed decisions. Whether guiding businesses through the start-up phase or assisting with exit strategies, he excels in helping clients navigate the complexities of tax legislation, such as achieving significant savings through small business Capital Gains Tax concessions.

"I thrive on helping clients navigate complex financial challenges, ensuring they understand their numbers and achieve exceptional outcomes at every stage of their business journey."

Tom thrives in high-stakes scenarios, supporting clients through significant financial conflicts or attacks from third parties. He likens these situations to “going to war” alongside his clients, fighting to secure the best outcomes. His dedication has consistently made a noticeable difference, particularly in instances where clients initially faced daunting tax bills but were able to achieve remarkable results with Tom’s guidance.

Tom’s journey with RSM began in 2000 in the Business Advisory Services team in Busselton. He later transitioned to the Risk Assurance services team in Perth, where he managed a large contract with the Department of Health. He then moved back to Business Advisory in the Fremantle office where he served for 13 years before joining the Rockingham office which he's managed since 2021. This diverse experience has equipped him with a versatile skill set and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by businesses across various sectors.calculator and receipts

Tom loves the diversity of his role, especially the opportunity to interact with different people and businesses. As the leader of the Peel and Rockingham-Kwinana (PaRK) office, he is dedicated to fostering a positive environment for his team, supporting their growth, and driving organisational success.

One of Tom’s proudest accomplishments is the evolution of his career and the success of his team. From 2021 to 2023, he implemented significant changes that have driven growth and efficiency, all while earning the trust and support of his colleagues. With decades of years of service at RSM, Tom’s journey is a testament to his commitment and adaptability.

With a focus on empowering clients to understand their financial position and achieve their goals, Tom is a trusted partner for businesses and individuals navigating complex financial landscapes. His expertise, dedication, and personable approach ensure clients receive the support they need to succeed.

Outside the office, Tom’s Swiss heritage contrasts with his love for spicy food—a trait he humorously considers a "mild superpower." An alternative rock aficionado, he remains deeply rooted in 90s music culture and excels as a niche expert during quiz nights.

A devoted Richmond Tigers fan, Tom endured decades of premiership drought before relishing the team’s success. He’s also a passionate basketball enthusiast, having played the sport into his late 30s and even inspiring colleagues to join the game.
