Audit Supervisor / Assistant Manager

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Audit Supervisor / Assistant Manager to join our Audit Department in Athens. This role bridges the responsibilities of an Audit Senior and an Audit Manager, offering an excellent opportunity for leadership, development, and career progression. The successful candidate will take a proactive role in managing audit engagements, supervising team members, and building strong client relationships while ensuring the highest quality standards.

Role Description

  • Supervise and manage the audit process, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met while addressing audit risks and technical matters.
  • Assist in the development of the audit approach and execution of complex engagements, applying professional judgment to resolve challenges.
  • Review and evaluate accounting systems, internal controls, and financial statements, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, managing expectations and ensuring clear communication throughout the engagement process.
  • Guide, mentor, and develop team members, providing feedback and promoting continuous professional growth.
  • Identify client needs and business opportunities, delivering added value and supporting business development activities.
  • Collaborate with Audit Managers and Partners to ensure alignment with strategic goals and client objectives.
  • Conduct fieldwork at client sites and oversee engagement teams to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international audit regulations (Greek Accounting Standards, Greek Taxation, IFRS, and ISA).
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and their teams, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
  • Contribute to a culture of excellence, demonstrating initiative and commitment to high-quality outcomes.

Role Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of external audit experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Higher Education degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • In-progress or completion of a professional qualification (ACCA or IESOEL).
  • Strong technical expertise in Greek Accounting Standards, IFRS, ISA, and Greek Taxation.
  • Advanced computer literacy and proficiency in audit tools.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
