The role involves delivering specialized tax advice and compliance services to corporate clients while ensuring adherence to local and international regulations. Opportunity description
This role specializes in the provision of tax services and advice as part of the full accounting and tax spectrum services provided by the team. More analytically:
- Provide specialized tax advice and compliance services to corporate clients, ensuring alignment with applicable laws and regulations.
- Research updates in tax legislation, assess their impact on clients' business operations, and communicate key findings effectively.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize clients' tax positions and minimize liabilities.
- Assist in setting up new companies under Greek jurisdiction, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with Greek GAAP and IFRS.
- Participate in the preparation of monthly and year-end tax filing activities, including VAT, VIES, Withholding Taxes, Intrastat, Income Tax, Tax Declarations and submissions.
- Support clients during tax audits and act as a liaison with tax authorities when required.
- Participate in special projects, including tax due diligence, transfer pricing studies, and other ad-hoc assignments, providing specialized insights and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Stay updated with changes in local and international tax regulations, sharing insights and knowledge within the team.
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including generating insights and publishing Tax Alerts.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing strategic planning, consulting, and expertise to address their unique needs.
Opportunity Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Tax Advisory or Tax Compliance services. Experience in Accounting & Bookkeeping will be considered an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A relevant Master’s degree or completion of a long-term tax seminar will be considered a plus.
- Good knowledge of IFRS and Greek GAAP will be considered an asset.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Advanced IT skills.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and report-writing skills.
- A commitment to excellence, with the ability to meet deadlines efficiently and effectively.
- Proven ability to identify business opportunities and contribute to the practice by fostering proactive interactions with the Firm’s and clients’ senior management.
