The Opportunity

We are seeking an Audit Senior to oversee the execution of audit engagements. This role involves planning, executing, directing, and   completing audits, as well as leading teams during field audits. The audit senior will report to the Audit Manager.

Qualifications

  • Qualified CPA (K), or ACCA and the relevant professional membership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (minimum Upper Second)
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of audit experience 
  • Experience handling clients within the financial services industry is an added advantage
  • Must have knowledge in the use of MS Office packages
  • Worked in a multi-cultural environment

Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of auditing, taxation, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS and ISA
  • Proficiency in accounting and auditing software (Caseware)
  • Excel and data analysis skills to manipulate and analyse financial data are highly desirable

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong client relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage and supervise junior staff and provide guidance and training
  • Highly analytical with good problem solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Planning audit fieldwork and leading audit teams 
  • Directly liaising and developing relationships with clients
  • Coaching and managing a team of audit professionals, facilitating them to have the information and opportunities they need to grow
  • Preparing audit working papers
  • Encouraging and emphasizing audit quality
  • Running and leading multiple simultaneous assignments
  • Identifying, researching and resolving audit issues and providing technical advice to clients
  • Identifying cross-selling opportunities for the firm
  • Assist in preparing the proposals specific to the Request for Proposals.
  • Following up signed financial statements, letter of representation, management letter and outstanding fees and ensuring the audit team has completed the evaluations before Partner sign-off.
     

Outcomes

  • Ensuring seamless planning and that the client acceptance/continuation is completed and signed off prior to the commencement of the audit.
  • Working as an effective team member to monitor the assignment and complete the assigned tasks within the budgeted time.
  • Identifying engagement issues and escalate these to the Audit Manager.
  • Effectively documenting work to the set performance standards
  • Actively developing technical skills on the job and through formal training and complying with the firm’s CPD requirements.
  • Obtain certification for all the IFRS modules on IFRS Fundamentals.
