RSM International, the leading provider of global audit, tax and consulting services to the middle market, is today announcing the growth of its correspondent firm in Malawi and the addition of a new correspondent firm in Nigeria, showcasing the network’s commitment to Africa.
Establishing footprint in Nigeria
In Nigeria, Stransact has been appointed as the network’s newest Correspondent Firm where it will support RSM’s existing clients who do business across the region. The new Correspondent Firm will bolster and support RSM’s Member Firms across Africa which already include Botswana, eSwatini, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia as well as several North African countries.
Eben Joels, Partner of Stransact said: “Our philosophy from the beginning has been to combine the wisdom and maturity of a large multinational network with the agility and hunger of a future focused disruptor. RSM shares this culture and I very much look forward to working with them in the future.”
Expanding client service capabilities in Malawi
In Malawi, RSM’s Correspondent Firm, Audit Consult, has announced the acquisition of a leading team in audit, tax and consulting, which will see the newly combined Firm grow to 12 partners and more than 65 staff. This team acquisition will make Audit Consult the second largest professional services Firm in Malawi and will offer middle market businesses access to global expertise and service offerings.
Clive Betty, RSM Regional Leader for Africa said, “Today’s two announcements are a big step forward for RSM in Africa. A confident, resurgent Nigeria is critical for RSM’s plans in the region and for Africa as a whole, and the significant expansion of the Malawi team brings new experience and opportunity. As Africa’s middle market businesses begin to recover from the pandemic, we will be there to support their next phase of growth.”
