RSM, the leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services to middle-market businesses, has today announced regional revenues of US$90million in Middle East and North Africa (MENA) for the 12 months to December 2024*.

Despite many middle market and internationally active businesses in the region facing instability arising from geopolitical pressures, economic headwinds and supply chain disruption, many were able to capitalise on MENA’s increasing economic diversification and growth in sectors such as construction, logistics, tourism and technology.

Heralding the positive impact RSM has created to support clients across the region, this has underlined the network’s continued growth trajectory, representing year-on-year revenue growth of 38% in 2024, and doubling its regional revenue in MENA since 2021.

Regional fee income for assurance services in 2024 soared by 36% to US$54.6mn. The expertise of RSM’s consulting practice, along with strategic investments made in ESG, risk and cyber security services across the region, drove an exceptional 36% increase in revenue. While RSM’s tax revenues in MENA delivered exceptional growth of 59% by climbing to US$7.8mn.

The strength and sustained progression of economies within the Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) propelled RSM clients to unlock growth opportunities through their involvement in current and future global infrastructure projects such as Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup. RSM Member Firms within the GCC saw year-on-year fee income increase by an exceptional 44%.

Bassam Dahman, Regional Leader – MENA, at RSM International, said: “RSM’s firm focus on middle-market and growth-orientated businesses, along with sustained investments to develop high quality solutions, has been central to the success of our Clients and our Firms.

“The emphasis we have placed on supporting our talent, on maximising our technological solutions and on ramping up digital transformation across the region has been pivotal.

“This strategic approach not only enhances RSM’s service capabilities in a dynamic market such as MENA, but also how our Member Firms can collaborate and innovate with the wider RSM network to support clients on the next stage of their exciting journeys.”

RSM leaders in MENA also sought to change the region’s future by pledging lasting support towards empowering women in the workplace.

In 2024, RSM Egypt, RSM Lebanon and RSM United Arab Emirates joined 39 other RSM Member Firms around the world by being proud signatories of The Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) in support of Sustainable Development Goal 5, Gender Equality.

Established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact, the WEPs are informed by international labour and human rights standards and grounded in the recognition that businesses have a stake in, and a responsibility for, gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Bassam Dahman, Regional Leader – MENA, at RSM International, said:
“Success for RSM in MENA is not measured merely by revenue growth, but also by how our Member Firms show their commitment to empower a diverse and regionally unified team.

“With more than 1,300 RSM experts supporting clients across the MENA region, we move forward with purpose and the fundamental belief that by working together we are an ever more compelling provider of professional services.”

A strong financial year in MENA adds to RSM’s global success, with the global organisation announcing worldwide revenues of US$10 billion for the 12 months to December 2024**.

The results amount to year-on-year growth of 6.4% and make RSM only the sixth global accounting network to exceed combined fees of $10 billion.

Global fee income for assurance services grew 15% to US$3.2bn, while RSM’s tax revenues rose by 11% to US$2.9bn, marking a second year in succession of double-digit growth. Global consulting revenue remained consistent with US$3.9bn, proving to be RSM’s strongest performing service line overall for a third year in a row.

E.J. Nedder, CEO of RSM International, said: “The combined revenues recorded by our organisation are testament to the value our Member Firms bring to a core part of the global economy, and underpin the vision of RSM’s 2030 global strategy. Our seamless and specialist cross-border solutions enable middle-market businesses to navigate challenges and build upon opportunities with confidence.
