Nigel has been an auditor throughout his professional career and has over 20 years’ experience providing assurance services to FMC and non-FMC clients across a range of industries. He is experienced in the understanding and evaluation of controls and understands the assurance needs of Directors in relation to their control environments.
His expertise comes with over 10 years of Manager and Director roles with a Big 4 firm, and 10 years as a partner at another firm before joining RSM.
Nigel has a wealth of knowledge in the interpretation and application of accounting standards in both the for-profit (International Financial Reporting Standards) – and the not-for-profit sectors (Public Benefit Entity International Public Sector Accounting Standards). He provides clients with technical guidance and accounting opinions on financial reporting issues. He regularly does presentations on technical accounting matters and has been a guest lecturer for AUT’s accounting facility.
Nigel has a passion for the financial services sector, having provided assurance and advisory services to banks and finance companies, life and general insurers and wealth management providers.
Qualifications
- Fellow Chartered Accountant, CAANZ
- Licensed Auditor in New Zealand
- Member of the CAANZ Disciplinary Tribunal
- Member of the Institute of Directors
Nigel is married to Stephanie and together they have three sons: Joshua, Lachlan and Cooper. He is an avid mountain biker and enjoys travelling when work commitments allow.
