SVEN BAUER AWARDED COVETED PRIZE AT 2014/15 EUROPEAN BUSINESS AWARDS PROGRAMME GALA EVENT IN LONDON
LONDON: 28.05.15: Sven Bauer, Co-Founder and owner of Germany’s BMZ GmbH, is celebrating after being named winner of the RSM Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the 2014/15 European Business Awards, sponsored by RSM, the 7th largest network of independent audit, tax and advisory firms, at an exclusive awards ceremony in London last night attended by leading business leaders, politicians, ambassadors and academics from across Europe.
BMZ GmbH is a leading system provider and specialist for intelligent rechargeable batteries and has manufacturing facilities in Germany, Poland, China and the USA.

Bauer, who won against stiff competition from nine other business leaders, was one of 13 of Europe’s best businesses awarded at the gala event, having achieved their success in the largest, and one of the toughest, business competitions in Europe, which this year attracted over 24,000 businesses and generated over 170,000 votes from the public.
Business VIPs presented trophies to the 11 category winners of the competition, the ‘European Public Champion’, the UK’s Utility Warehouse, and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Sir John Robert Madejski, OBE, Chairman of Reading Football Club, Chancellor of the University of Reading and Deputy Lieutenant of Berkshire. Other winners included Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Turkey, winner of the Employer of the Year Award; and Antares Vision, which won the Growth Strategy of the Year Award.
The 11 category winners went through a process of written submissions, video entry judging and face-to-face interviews, and were shortlisted as one of 709 National Champions and 110 Ruban d’Honneur recipients before reaching the final.
In the 2014/15 competition, all EU member markets were represented plus Turkey, Norway, Switzerland, Serbia, and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The combined revenue of the entrants exceeded €1.5 trillion, and together they generated profits of over €60 billion and employ over 2.5 million people.
