RSM International, one of the world's largest global accountancy networks, has appointed Bob Dohrer as Global Director of Quality, effective 1 March. He will be mainly based at the network's Executive Office in London and brings with him significant professional experience gained from senior positions at US member firm, McGladrey & Pullen, and chairmanship of the International Federation of Accountants Forum of Firms.
In the new role, Dohrer will focus on the provision of audit and assurance services, covering all aspects of the Executive Office's oversight of policies, procedures, tools and processes aimed to maintain high quality services by member firms. He will also be responsible for some aspects of the inspection programmes for tax and advisory services.
Dohrer has 23 years of experience with McGladrey & Pullen, the US member firm of RSM International, ranging from staff auditor to National Director of Assurance Services. At McGladrey & Pullen, Dohrer participated in the US technical standards-setting process and worked with national standard-setting bodies and regulators. Dohrer also chairs the RSM Transnational Assurance Services Executive Committee, where he oversees the application of professional standards across RSM International's member firms around the world.
On the appointment, Bob Dohrer said, "I am looking forward to joining RSM International's London-based team and building on the network's strong global technical capabilities. It is critical that all member firms remain aligned to RSM policies, procedures and tools to continue to provide exceptional client service and I am eager to become even closer to this process."
Jean Stephens, CEO, RSM International said, "With rapidly evolving regulatory requirements set by standard-setters on a global basis, it is critical that RSM International continues to contribute at the highest level with developments in our profession. Bob Dohrer's impressive experience and expertise make him the perfect fit for the role and we feel privileged to have him working alongside our Executive Office staff in London. We know that he will hit the ground running and bring a valuable contribution to the network and our clients."
