What were you doing before you joined RSM? 
While I studied Finance at the University of Amsterdam, I was also working part-time for RSM in the non-assurance department. I found economics and business interesting due to my limited knowledge in the sector and encountered it a lot in everyday life. During my studies, I chose Corporate Finance as it combined numerical knowledge with verbal communication.  
What attracted you to work at RSM? 
My brother works at RSM and told me about the corporate services and the cosy atmosphere. Furthermore, he shared that there are a lot of possibilities for growth inside RSM.

What impression did you have of RSM and how did this match your experience? 
Before I started at RSM, I expected to see many more people in suits and that it would be a more corporate environment. I found my first day exciting and I was happy that I had found a job in which I would be challenged with more knowledge and the opportunity to develop myself in a more professional atmosphere. I was surprised that the office had a good view of Amsterdam, is nice looking, professional and everything is well arranged - and my colleagues are like me. I also like the combination between working hard and being part of an informal and family feeling atmosphere. In my experience, there is always room for everyone’s opinion and personal preferences. I notice this in the regular personal meetings with my manager/ director. 
I started as a Junior Assistant in accounting and reporting. During my time with RSM, I have gained an understanding of and genuine interest in professional services and I discovered that I am more interested in the consulting sector.  
Inside RSM there is a possibility to change to another department - or discover other departments to find out for yourself what kind of work you like the most. I very much appreciate that my manager at the time and RSM as an organisation put my personal and professional development first and stimulated my move to Financial Due Diligence (FDD). I am really happy with the switch to the FDD department and as a result, experience more joy in my work.  
In my time at RSM, I have experienced a good connection with all my superiors. They treat you as equals and don’t make you feel like you’re inferior to them.

What are you like outside of RSM? 
I have a strong mental attitude and my family, friends and social contacts are an important part of my life. In my spare time, I like to play tennis and I’m someone who is constantly developing myself by learning new things.
