Dr. Bassam Dahman

Regional Leader for Middle East and North Africa

Biography 

Bassam is Regional Leader for the RSM Middle East and North Africa region (MENA) and he also oversees the West Africa sub-region. Bassam is responsible for the growth and development of RSM within these regions. He has a deep knowledge of the region and has established a strong community within MENA and West Africa, fostering relationships to build specialist teams to bring insight, experience and expertise to RSM’s international and local clients.

Starting his career as an Internal Auditor within the transport industry, Bassam subsequently co-founded RSM UAE in 1996. In addition to his role as Regional Leader for MENA, Bassam is also Managing Partner of RSM UAE, and provides a diverse range of services for his portfolio of clients. 

Bassam’s broad experience includes the audit of banking and financial institutions, oil and gas companies, and telecommunications companies. He also has extensive experience in corporate tax matters, Islamic Finance and Zakat laws. 

Bassam holds a Doctorate in Philosophy Degree in Accounting which he gained at Stanford University, USA. He is a Fellow Member of the International Accountants Society of Chartered Accountants, Jordan and Certified Public Accountant, Yemen. Bassam has been a Board Member on the International Arab Society of Certified Accountants since 2016.

Bassam is a devoted desert rally motocross biker and also an artist. He can weld, cut, bend or fabricate as well as having mastered glass etching techniques.
