Rudolf Winkenius
Global Tax Leader

Biography 

Rudolf joined the legal predecessor of RSM Netherlands in 1985. Specialising in strategic tax advisory, Rudolf became Managing Partner in 2005 (until the end of 2022). Under his leadership, RSM Netherlands grew from a regional office into a national office with a significant international component. RSM Netherlands now consists of seven branches, over 600 employees and 19 partners.

At the end of 2023, Rudolf stepped down as Partner of RSM Netherlands. He joined the Global Executive Office as Global Tax Leader in 2024, working with the Global Tax Leadership Group and RSM’s global tax community to develop RSM’s tax business internationally. 

As Global Tax Leader, Rudolf works with member firms to build the community’s international tax business and reinforce RSM’s reputation as a global organisation that provides high quality international tax services.

Rudolf is passionate about working collaboratively with Member Firms to grow their tax practices, leveraging innovative tax technology and coordinating investment in these technologies across the network.

Rudolf brings a wealth of experience working with many skilled tax professionals across RSM’s global community, as together, they work towards delivering RSM’s 2030 Global Strategy.

Outside of work Rudolf likes to spend time with his family and competes in squash, tennis and field hockey. Rudolf also loves to travel and spend time skiing with his family. 

Rudolf is actively involved in non-profit organisations and is passionate about helping children and young people with autism. To support this cause, Rudolf has worked with Stichting Papageno as Treasurer for more than 10 years.

During Rudolf’s time working with Stichting Papageno it has become a household name in the Netherlands. Today the organisation helps children and young people with autism to find their own place in society and live independently, through music therapy, ongoing involvement in research and Papageno Huis Laren.
