RSM Puerto Rico proudly hosted the seventh RSM Latin America Regional Conference. Over 100 RSM executives from our Latin American offices attended the event held at the Caribe Hilton, including CEO Jean Stephens and Regional Leader Brendan Quirk. The conference was preceded by a number of technical seminars over the weekend, and opened with a welcome cocktail featuring Puerto Rican salsa and plena dance troupes. After two days of internal conferences and plenary sessions for all attendees, the event closed with the accustomed meeting between all Managing Partners in the region.
This is the first time that Puerto Rico has hosted this conference yet, judging by the attendance records that were set and the expressions of all participants, it seems that it will not necessarily be the last. Monday night featured dinner at Perla Restaurant in the Condado area, sponsored by the hosts. RSM participants from all over the hemisphere had the opportunity to engage and mingle well into the evening, thus fulfilling one of the underlying objectives of the event, that of further integrating and bringing closer all members of the RSM community in the region.
Although there were numerous engaging and memorable moments throughout the conference, it was the session titled Successful Women in the Executive World which seemed to have generated the greatest interest. Five successful businesswomen and entrepreneurs held an onstage conversation aimed at highlighting the increased role of women in the executive echelons throughout Latin America, and the business opportunities that this represents. Coverage of this session is due out in the local media.
Indeed, RSM's competitive position in Latin America is foreseen to continue to grow healthily. And it is by way of conferences such as the one held in Puerto Rico that the network is ensuring that it stays one step ahead of client needs. Within and beyond our borders, our aim is to ensure that RSM clients experience The Power of Being Understood.
