Get your Golden Visa with RSM

DoubleDragon Corp. has launched a project to make it easier for Filipinos to benefit from obtaining the Golden Visa and at the same time get good returns on their investments.

The company's Hotel101 venture, which is to build a large hotel in Madrid near Ifema, Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport and the Real Madrid sports city, has teamed up with RSM as a corporate partner that will help facilitate Golden Visa applications for investors who acquire at least three units in what is expected to be one of the five largest hotels in the Spanish capital.

According to Edgar "Injap" Sia II, DoubleDragon's chairman and chief executive officer, "people applying for a Spanish Golden Visa must invest €1 million if it is in cash in a bank, but if it is in the form of a real estate asset, the minimum value required is €500,000". That's the equivalent of only around P30 million and the acquisition of three units in Hotel101 Madrid will meet that threshold.

This is a special type of residence permit created for all non-EU citizens who wish to make a significant investment in Spain, in order to move and obtain residency.

It allows you to live and work in Spain for 3 years initially, and can be renewed later for 5 years (as long as you maintain your original investment).

As with the rest of the European countries that offer a golden visa, this significant investment is usually in real estate, but there are other investment options that will also allow you to obtain this residency. In the case of Spain, there are 3 alternatives, which we will see later in this article. With the residence by investment, one can travel freely within the European Union.

 

How is it regulated?

 

The Entrepreneurs Act 14/2003, regulates the residence permit for investors, which includes different residence permits created in 2013, including the investor visa, the Entrepreneur Visa, the Intra-corporate Transfer Visa, and the Highly Skilled Worker Visa.

Instead of the local immigration office processing the files, the application for the investor visa is processed by the UGE (Large Business Unit).

Conditions to apply for the Golden Visa

Be of legal age
Be of legal age (18 years or older in Spain).
criminal record
Not have a criminal record, either in Spain or in any other country where you have resided in the last 5 years.
health coverage
Have full health coverage in Spain, through public or private insurance.
sufficient financial means
Proof of sufficient financial means to support both the principal investor and his/her family (if you also include family members in your joint application for residence).
investment
Make the investment and provide the corresponding document to prove it.
