The Opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at RSM Eastern Africa. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for the execution of all finance-related tasks under the supervision of the Finance Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Full CPA qualification
Background and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance role.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Fluency in MS Office applications
- Fast learner and comfortable with new challenges

Responsibilities and Outcomes
- Attending to any queries within 24 hours.
- Identifying accounting and tax issues and communicating these, as they arise, to the PIC, including escalating any complex issues to ensure that these are resolved promptly.
- Managing all aspects of the office accounting function including the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks.
- Ensuring that financial policies and standards are in place, are effective and applied, and also having a strong understanding of the administration, IT, and Human Resource policies and procedures.
- Ensuring all membership, licensing, and subscriptions of the firm are followed up and renewed on an annual basis.
- Provide financial advice, information, and services to the Partner as appropriate.
- Ensure that cash is properly managed.
- Contribute actively to the pursuit of expenditure savings and structural cost reduction initiatives.
- Ensure that debt collection controls are in place and are effective in the firm.
- Ensure that accounts payable and accounts receivable controls are in place and effective.
- Assisting with the interview process to identify A-players for the finance department.
- Actively developing technical skills on the job and through formal training.
- Building working relationships with clients and team members.
