Each year, the IAB releases a comprehensive global survey that evaluates accounting networks and associations based on revenue and headcount across countries and regions. The 2025 IAB World Survey results have now been published, reaffirming RSM International’s strong position in the global market.

For the 33 accountancy networks that took part in this year’s World Survey, overall growth remained positive at 7%. This is a slight slowdown from last year which saw 8% growth. The total fee income for all networks this year was $297,193.2m, up from $274,844.8m last year.
For the Big Four growth slowed compared to last year, with Deloitte, PwC and EY all showing 4% growth compared to last year’s 9%, 6%, and 9% respectively. KPMG’s growth remained the same at 5%.
Outside of the Big Four, the top ten networks all grew by 6% or more, with half of them achieving double digit growth. Growth in staff number was sluggish this year with only a 1% increase on last year.
Breakdown of Global Revenue by Service Line:
The International Accounting Bulletin (IAB) identifies four core service lines within the accounting and advisory profession: audit and assurance, accounting, tax, and consulting. In 2024, all four categories recorded positive, double-digit growth compared to the previous year. Specifically, audit and assurance grew by 14%, accounting by 13%, and both tax and consulting services increased by 10% year-on-year.
Among these, consulting services generated the highest total global revenue, amounting to 117,397.6 million US dollars. Deloitte maintained its leading position among the Big Four in this category, while EY was the only member to report a decline, with a 5% decrease in consulting revenue compared to the previous year.
Importantly, outside the Big Four, RSM leads the global market in consulting revenue, achieving a 26% increase year-on-year. RSM’s total revenue from consulting services reached 3,881.5 million US dollars, reflecting the network’s growing influence in this segment.
In accounting services, BDO ranked first, with revenue of 2,241.3 million US dollars. In the tax category, PwC led the market, generating 12,737.6 million US dollars. PwC also posted an impressive 28% growth in audit and assurance services, reaching 19,383.4 million US dollars.
Revenue Breakdown by Region (Excluding the Big Four)
According to data from the International Accounting Bulletin (IAB), all regions experienced growth in total fee income in 2024, with particularly strong double-digit increases reported in North America (12%), Europe (11%), and the Middle East (10%).
North America recorded the highest total revenue, reaching $40,644.0 million, followed by Europe with $27,285.7 million, Asia-Pacific with $12,749.8 million, Latin America with $2,117.2 million, the Middle East with $1,237.0 million, and Africa with $978.5 million.
Notably, in the European region, all of the top ten networks and associations achieved double-digit revenue growth, highlighting the region’s strong overall performance in 2024.
