Effective technology project management begins with a clear business case and clearly defined target benefits. An agreed project governance structure is critical, with the Project Board or Steering Group playing a key role. Co-ordination between suppliers and internal staff must be smooth, open and honest. Also, dependencies on business change activities (such as training or process improvement) must be identified and managed early on.
