Julio Cruz

Managing and Audit Partner

Julio Cruz has been part of the RSM Panama family for over a decade, serving as a partner in auditing and head of the external audit department, catering to clients in industries such as manufacturing, distribution, education, and general services. Additionally, over the past few years, he has led the outsourcing-BPO department and practice, where accounting and payroll services are developed for clients in an outsourced manner.

Julio has over 25 years of experience. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Accounting (Bachelor in Business Administration - Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas), a Postgraduate degree in Senior Management, and a Master's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Business Management from the Universidad Latina de Panama. He is also a licensed Public Accountant graduated from the University of Panama. He is an active member of the Authorized Public Accountants School of Panama and has been a professor at the Specialized University of the Authorized Public Accountant (UNESCPA) in the Diploma program of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). He served as the regional leader of International Financial Reporting Standards for RSM Latin America and a member of the IFRS Advisory Committee of RSM Global from 2020 to 2022. He is a member of the Panamanian Association of Business Executives (APEDE).

Julio has developed his expertise in the audit area through previous opportunities and experiences in project development in national and multinational commercial companies, some of which are registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); companies under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act; and USGAAP. Before joining the firm, he worked for 13 years in one of the four largest audit firms globally (Big Four).
