Javier de Bethencourt is a partner at RSM and specialises in Tax.

Javier is a professional with more than 20 years of experience in planning and advice, both tax and financial, in companies, especially in SMEs and family companies.

He has developed his career mainly in the Canary Islands, specialising in the Canary Islands Economic and Fiscal Regime (REF). His clients, in addition to local companies, include foreign investors setting up new companies to carry out projects or relocate their activity to the islands, especially to take advantage of the low taxation of the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC).

In addition, during his professional career he has had the opportunity to provide services to various non-profit institutions, foundations, associations and professional associations.

He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Cantabria (2001), a Master's degree in Business Taxation from the Fundación Canaria Mapfre Guanarteme (2002), and is a member of the Association of Economists of Las Palmas and the Spanish Association of Tax Advisors (AEDAF)
