What did you do before coming to RSM Switzerland?
I completed a bachelor's degree followed by a master's degree in law with a specialisation in taxation at the University of Neuchâtel.
In parallel of my studies, I worked at my father's company, which allowed me to have a first contact with the professional world.
Within his company, I was in charge of all the administrative tasks, including correspondence, contact with clients, and invoicing.
What attracted you to work in the field of audit, tax, and consulting?
I have always had a particular attraction for these fields and during my master's degree at the University of Neuchâtel, I had the opportunity to select some of my courses. In particular, there were some courses related to taxation which allowed me to confirm my particular attraction for this branch.
Why did you choose to work at RSM Switzerland?
At RSM Switzerland, the teams are composed of many young people. For me, it was important to have colleagues who were in the same age group. The schedule is flexible, and the managers and colleagues are very understanding, and always ready to listen and help.
“You can always count on someone here.”
What were the benefits of your internship?
At the end of my internship, I was determined to continue my adventure at RSM Switzerland because I felt comfortable there. In my opinion, RSM Switzerland is a company with a future, it keeps growing, and that's why I wanted to stay.
In addition, there is a very open relationship within the business hierarchy; all my colleagues and managers are available at any time to answer various questions. The training I received as an intern allowed me to learn a lot, including a certain way of working. Because of this, I was eager to stay at the company that trained me. I was offered the opportunity to continue my adventure and since last April I have been working as a Tax Consultant.
What has been your favourite experience at RSM Switzerland?
I really appreciated the management of client files and the possibility of having direct contact with clients, which showed me that the managers trusted me and could count on me. In this way, I felt my work was valued and highlighted. We also had the opportunity to go rafting on the Arve, which helped me to get to know my colleagues better and strengthen the relationships between departments.
Since COVID19, we have had to adapt to working remotely – how does it work at RSM Switzerland?
RSM Switzerland allows its employees flexibility in this respect and has adapted since the health crisis. As a result, I usually have the opportunity to work from my home office on Fridays. I find that this allows a certain flexibility and saves me time in terms of transport because I come from Neuchâtel every morning by train.
What would you tell someone who might be considering a career at RSM Switzerland?
The team is young, which is a very important point in my opinion for young people entering the job market and who want to integrate quickly.
“The training is truly exceptional, we have responsibilities quite quickly which allows us to learn efficiently.”
In addition, there is always someone to help us and to answer our questions.
The company offers employees training courses such as tax expertise so that they can enrich their knowledge. It is also possible to offer managers training that we consider useful for our field of activity.
How do you see your professional future?
I have just started my adventure as a tax consultant, so I will take this opportunity to gain experience and I will reflect in the next few years on whether I see myself passing the tax expertise certification to get more responsibilities in the future.
Outside of RSM Switzerland, who are you? What are your passions?
I like to be in nature and the mountains. Walking during the weekends allows me to recharge and enjoy my free time. During the winter I love to enjoy the ski slopes of the Valais region.
