Highlights of Annual Individual Income Tax Return

Given that Indonesia's population is expected to surpass 270 million by December 2023, the individual income tax has the potential to increase and provide support for the government revenue. As a result, beginning with the Fiscal Year 2024, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) started to streamline the process of calculating the Article 21 income tax, which covers the income of employees and other professionals.

In keeping with the foregoing, the DGT has regulated its submission procedures to make it easier for individual taxpayers to fulfil their tax obligations. The Individual Income Tax Return submission deadline for 2023 is 31 March 2024. Therefore, it is crucial that we are reminded.
