Michiel Buiteman
Director
Michiel has been working as an external auditor at RSM in Amsterdam since 2021. Previously, he worked as an accountant in the Financial Services practice at a big four firm.
Michiel has extensive experience in the wide range of accountancy-related services for financial institutions. From this background, Michiel leads RSM's Financial Services practice in the Netherlands. In this practice, Michiel and his team actively provide clients with asset management, private equity, venture capital, payment platforms, financing and more. In addition, Michiel and his team advise clients on internal control and reporting.
As a chartered accountant and chartered IT auditor, Michiel knows the complexity of dynamic environments with a strong dependence on IT. He is also very familiar with laws and regulations specific to the financial sector.
As head of IFRS in the Netherlands, Michiel is skilled in the application of accounting standards (IFRS and Dutch GAAP). Michiel is also a member of RSM International's Global Financial Leadership team, where we work on continuous improvement of cross border financial services to our international clients in the Financial Services domain.
