Global Trends
Businesses worldwide are increasingly prioritizing gender equality and women’s empowerment, especially in leadership, fair pay, and workplace improvements. Yet, the gender pay gap remains a challenge. According to the International Labour Organization (ILO) 2024 report, women globally still earn 20% less than men on average.
In Taiwan, the 2024 salary survey by the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting, and Statistics (DGBAS) found that women earn an average hourly wage of 327 TWD, compared to 389 TWD for men, resulting in a 15.8% gender pay gap. This means women must work 58 more days than men to earn the same annual salary.
To drive real change, RSM Global launched the "Equality Every Day" campaign in 2022, reinforcing our commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs).
