Cristina Posa is Partner of the service line Forensic Investigations & Intelligence at RSM Italy Corporate Finance S.r.l.
A former United States federal prosecutor and Department of Justice Attaché to the United States Embassy in Italy, Cristina has over 20 years’ experience leading complex international investigations, with particular expertise in digital evidence, litigation support and management of risk regarding emerging regulations, especially in technology, privacy, and cybersecurity.
Cristina regularly guest lectures on these subjects at the Scuola Superiore della Magistratura in Italy and has trained law enforcement, judges, and prosecutors throughout Europe and the United States on the acquisition and use of digital evidence and on international legal cooperation. She is a member of the Council of Europe-Cybercrime Programme’s panel of experts on cybercrime. 
Cristina is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Johns Hopkins University. She is an experienced federal trial lawyer and a member of the New York State Bar.

Career

  • Most recently, at Meta, Cristina led a senior legal team responsible for managing strategic relationships with government agencies in EMEA seeking data from Meta for criminal investigations and in mitigating security threats to Meta’s users and family of apps.
  • Director and founder of Amazon’s Counterfeit Crimes Unit, a team of lawyers and investigators that analyzed large data sets to identify sellers of counterfeit goods on Amazon and expanded the investigations to target their supply networks. Cristina partnered with famous brands in luxury, health care, and other sectors to bring civil lawsuits and criminal referrals against counterfeiting networks. She led a ground-breaking lawsuit against social media influencers for trafficking in counterfeit luxury items.
  • United States Department of Justice Attaché, United States Embassy in Rome, Italy, responsible for criminal justice cooperation between the United States, Italy, and other countries in southern Europe.
  • Assistant United States Attorney and Deputy Chief, National Security and Cybercrime Section, United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn, New York. Cristina’s notable cases included the investigation and prosecution of cybercrime, local and international corruption, and organized crime.
