Supporting Individuals with Disabilities

Forest operates employment support facilities in Sapporo City, catering to continued employment (Type A and Type B). Members with various disabilities, including mental health issues like schizophrenia, mood disorders (such as depression and bipolar disorder), developmental or physical disabilities, holding disability certificates, engage in part-time work geared towards general employment.

Type A support enables individuals with disabilities to work under employment contracts in supported workplaces when regular employment poses challenges. On the other hand, Type B support involves vocational training, like light work, without formal employment contracts.

Forest’s members possess skills and certifications in areas like web, design, video production, and accounting. This partnership deepens our existing relationship and aims to accelerate support for members with disabilities seeking general employment opportunities.

Concrete Initiatives

Our group has been implementing a program since spring this year to enable Forest members to work directly at our Sapporo office. Primarily focusing on Type A support members and involving some Type B members, this program aims to enhance skills and create future employment opportunities.

Forest’s support facility focuses on IT and accounting skill improvement, gaining high recognition in Sapporo. Several members have pursued IT and accounting qualifications, like the Certified Social Insurance and Labor Consultant Exam or the Nissho Bookkeeping Level 1 Exam.

We delegate diverse tasks such as web development, IT infrastructure, and video production to Forest members, aiming to enhance their skills for future employment opportunities.

steps

In September this year, one Forest member began direct employment at our group, contributing actively in web, design, and IT infrastructure. Achieving general employment opens capacity in continued support facilities, aligning with our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Establishment of Sapporo Office and Future Vision

Our Sapporo office, established in June this year, provides continuity for Forest members transitioning to general employment. This environment supports their career growth during the workplace transition.

Our collaboration aims to ensure smooth adaptation and continuity after general employment, contributing significantly to Forest’s administrators providing ongoing support for a stable presence in general employment.

We envision this innovative approach influencing not only our group but also inspiring broader social change. Our goal is to create a future where diverse individuals can thrive in a culture valuing their abilities.

Promoting Diversity and Inclusion

RSM International and RSM Shiodome Partners prioritize Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). We recognize the limited employment opportunities and skills acquisition for people with disabilities compared to the general workforce. Sustaining our collaboration with Forest is vital, promoting a work environment where individuals with disabilities can work without limitations.
