Michiel joined RSM as Tax Director in the VAT team in Amsterdam in 2024. With over twenty years of experience at, among others, Big4 and as in-house VAT specialist at several multinationals, Michiel focuses on national and international VAT issues in the areas of supply chain, VAT risk management and optimisation, tax support in mergers and acquisitions and other (re)structuring, setting up a Tax Control Framework and other VAT developments, such as further digitalisation (real-time reporting) within compliance processes. The companies Michiel advises range from medium-sized to (international) listed companies.

What makes Michiel unique is his ability to clarify complex issues and his commitment to each client relationship. His strengths, which include excellent communication skills, an analytical approach and an eye for detail, ensure that he delivers high-quality results. His enthusiasm and dedication make him a valued partner in every project.

Michiel studied Tax Law at the University of Amsterdam and is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers.
