An applicant must be a Queensland-registered for-profit manufacturing businesses
The Made in Queensland (MIQ) Program supports Queensland-based small to medium enterprise (SME) manufacturers
Stage 1 applications open on 24 September 2024 and are anticipated to close on 24 January 2025 (noting election period).

The Made in Queensland Program – Round 7 offers grants funding between $50,000 and $2.5 million to manufacturers with up to 200 employees.

The Made in Queensland (MIQ) Program supports Queensland-based small to medium enterprise (SME) manufacturers to:

  • Adopt state-of-the-art technologies and processes that boost their profitability and competitiveness in global markets;
  • Create high-skilled manufacturing jobs in Queensland; and
  • Improve energy efficiency, export, reshoring, decarbonisation and transition to net zero manufacturing processes.

MIQ Round 7 particularly seeks to support purchase, installation, integration, commissioning, and associated costs of:

  • New advanced robotics, Industry 4.0 and/or Industry 5.0 equipment (e.g. automation of existing processes, digital twin technology);
  • Sector-relevant Industry 4.0 and/or 5.0 technologies, systems and processes (e.g. AI analytics, digital connectivity, carbon monitoring); and
  • Planning and strategy development required for project (e.g. professional advice, decarbonisation strategy, waste management plan).

The total pool is $20 million. Grants of between $50,000 and $2.5 million are available, and can cover up to 50% of project costs.

An applicant must be:

Queensland-registered for-profit manufacturing businesses that have:

  • 5 - 200 FTE employees (at least 5 FTE based in Queensland); and
  • Ownership of existing equipment required for manufacturing operations, and planned ownership of grant-funded equipment

Additionally, applicants must propose a project that:

  • Has a Queensland project site;
  • Can be completed within 12 months; and
  • Implements advanced robotics, Industry 4.0 or Industry 5.0 equipment, or a sector-relevant technology, system or process.

Note: Funding awarded to applicants and any associated entities cannot cumulatively exceed $2.5 million across Rounds 1 – 7 of the MIQ Program.
