The position

We are looking to add an intelligence analyst intern to work with the team. As such, you will be tasked with collecting information and coordinating resources, online and offline, regarding companies and individuals, in order to answer our clients’ most diverse strategic questions.

This position will be based at our office in Milan, Italy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct media and database research using complex search criteria and following a strict methodology;
  • Provide research into potential issues relating to financial crimes, compliance concerns, money laundering, and corruption;
  • Identify and interview human sources to develop intelligence and supplement research;
  • Critically evaluate information on sources, opposed interests and roles in a wide range of industries;
  • Contribute to, improve and develop new tools and procedures to keep our investigative methodology current, relevant and cost-effective;
  • Build and maintain awareness of the broader context and implications of the various types of risk affecting the business (e.g. financial, legal, reputational);
  • Distil conclusions and identify hidden or indirect connections from research findings;
  • Create thorough reports presenting information in a clear and narrative way;
  • Present findings to Clients during in-person and remote meetings.

Must haves (job requirements)

  • EU passport / work permit in the EU;
  • Master’s degree in any discipline;
  • Excellent command of Italian & English, with some life experience outside of your country of birth;
  • Strong research, writing and analytical skills, including ability to summarize information quickly and effectively from multiple sources into concise assessments;
  • An interest in OSINT and some experience in online research;
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Knowledge of and ability to turn information into actionable intelligence;
  • Ability to take ideas from concept to completion, meet deadlines, communicate, and follow up swiftly and thoroughly;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to connect the dots organizationally, network effortlessly, influence various roles and profiles to drive collaboration and program excellence;
  • Ability to take direction, feedback, and guidance from management and provide frequent project updates to ensure alignment with team goals;
  • Strong oral/written communication and data presentation skills, including communicating effectively with business and technical teams;
  • Positive attitude and ability to collaborate with others and work as a team.

Nice to haves

  • Advanced degree in any discipline;
  • Command of a third language, German proficiency is a plus;
  • Experience in the fields of corporate intelligence, investigations or due diligence with a recognized company or association;
  • Proficiency in public record, OSINT, investigative, and financial research resources;
  • Working proficiency in Python / Java;
  • Advanced command of Excel (vlookups, pivots, macros, etc.).
